John August Swanson
Artist
Swanson makes his home in Los Angeles, California, where he was born in 1938. He paints in oil, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media, and is an independent printmaker of limited edition serigraphs, lithographs and etchings.
Swanson's "Festival of Lights" is the front jacket illustration for the book Practicing Our Faith and is used on this website by permission of the artist. The original acrylic painting is 37" by 29" and the redesigned serigraph is 30 1/2" by 24".
